Fthmlss returns with the second single to be taken from his forthcoming ‘Observer’ EP and it’s a heart wrenching, gossamer vocal-led hybrid of electronic soul and lofi beats.

The heads will no doubt be getting familiar with the producer thanks to a huge showing of support from BBC6Music, FIP, Radio Eins, Magnetic Mag, College Music, XLR8R and more since joining forces with Asta Hiroki’s Folded Music imprint.

‘Kayawa’ sees the producer showcasing a different side of his art and a new update of his usual ethereal vignette style of beatmaking. It’s a spacious arrangement yet there’s no shortage of audio interest and keen-eared listeners have new elements awaiting on virtually every bar.

Delicate guitar and harp arpeggios adorn a modern hip hop and modern soul influenced beat. The bittersweet and longing vocal line perfectly encapsulates the emotions of heartbreak and nostalgia for the love of a relationship that once was.
